Thanksgiving With Friends

We spent Thanksgiving at home this year, so we didn't have any family to host or cook for. Our wonderful friends, Matt and Caroline, invited us to their house and it was pretty much perfect for our "newborn house" - we only had to cook one side dish, and we could show up and leave whenever we wanted. This was Matt and Caroline's first year hosting Thanksgiving in their own house for both sides of their family, so there were lots of people (most of whom we know from church) to visit and celebrate with!

Looking sassy in the morning with no makeup and getting ready to cook!

Matt's on the left, and they had grandparents on both sides there, too! I love meeting extended family of our friends!

Matt's aunt, giving Henry some snuggle time.

You can't really tell in this picture, but Matt and Steve wore the EXACT SAME OUTFIT. It was fabulous!

We had two turkeys - Caroline cooked a traditional one in the oven, and Matt fried one outside. They were both delicious, but this was my first time eating the fried version, and the crispy outside kind of sold me.

Two of the things we're thankful for!

I really like this picture, because we're both looking and smiling! (And the Instagram filter makes us look all gentle and pretty.)

Come on. This is just perfect. And further proof of our wonderful day...Evelyn fell asleep on the couch almost as soon as we got home, and Henry followed pretty quickly after that.
