Henry's "One Month" Post

Henry was officially a month old the week of Thanksgiving! He is already 11 pounds! The doctor actually congratulated me on my amazing breastmilk! (Girl doctors are cool like that.) The doctor also asked the nurse to re-measure his head, because apparently, it's very large. I think she said it was 18 centimeters; I have no idea what that is in comparison, but it just sounds big!

He has graduated out of "newborn" diapers and is sleeping pretty well in his bassinet. Gassiness is still a problem that keeps him up at night sometimes. It actually seems to have gotten worse with Henry sleeping less, so we finally took him to our pediatrician during their Saturday hours to get some acid reflux medicine.

Once we started giving him the medicine, it was like a different baby almost immediately! The meds definitely settled his reflux down and he's been sleeping much better!

I had forgotten how many noises newborns make! He is constantly grunting and straining, even in his sleep! And when he has to poop, it's crazy - so much grunting - he sounds like a full-grown man!

He has started randomly smiling, too, but we still can't get him to do it on demand. We think he's going to be really ticklish, because of how he reacts to that already. Baby acne is a new adventure, because Bella and Evelyn never had it, but as long as I can keep Steve from messing with Henry's face, I think we'll be fine.

I actually remembered with this baby to do an official "month" picture with a stuffed animal, so we could compare his growth.

Love you, Little Man!
