Picking Apples At The Orchard

We laid pretty low over the weekend; Mel got her wisdom teeth pulled, I had a 24-hour flu bug, and the girls both woke up on Sunday morning with the sniffles and a cough. Since Steve had today off, we thought we'd take advantage of the extra time home and check out an apple orchard that Whitney and Trey told us about.

It ended up being cold and rainy this morning, and we definitely had that parent moment of, "I can't believe we kept the girls in the house all weekend (and home from church) so they could stay healthy, and now we're going to drag them through an apple orchard in the wind and rain!" If they end up with pneumonia, we can only blame ourselves.

Luckily, it ended up going really well! Bella was in a great mood and it wasn't raining while we were outside. We got to pick apples and give Bella a chance to run around the trees. A great memory as an outing with our little family!

The beautiful view of the mountains

About to get started; Bella refused to look at the nice stranger holding our camera.

Bella was in such a great mood! Me and my unrealistic expectations have waited three years for her to actually be excited for holiday activities! Woo hoo!

Picking apples by herself...she would find her "fabrite", pull really hard, and finally fall on her rear end when the apple came off.

The joys of paying money to do the work yourself!

Being silly with Evelyn. Doesn't she look thrilled?

Scouting the next best tree

We're done and we survived!

Eating our picnic lunch, and making silly faces with the strawberries.

Daddy kisses and Mama lovin'...

We were so thankful that the weather stayed nice while we were walking around the orchard, and we were pleasantly surprised that Bella enjoyed herself so much! She loved picking apples, did a great job obeying, and even asked to hold Daddy's hand. Holla!

Next up: our favorite pumpkin patch down the street and forcing to Evelyn to sit on a haystack!
