The REAL Elsa

Is it weird to document another child's birthday party? I don't think I can resist! A few weeks ago, Bella's friend, Ally, celebrated her 5th birthday, and Ally's mama, Emily, hired a real Elsa to come and play with the girls.

Oh my goodness! To call it amazing would be an understatement...she did such an incredible job! The moms at the party were in awe (and probably more excited than the girls!) Bella reacted pretty much like I expected - she got overwhelmed and refused to go anywhere near Elsa. It was fine, though, because I figured it was much more important that Ally had fun with Elsa than that Bella did. Plus, I knew Bella would talk for days afterwards about meeting Elsa, even if she ignored her at the party, and that's exactly what happened!

The car ride home was hilarious, because I had just spent about an hour of watching Bella hide behind me and not want to go near sweet Elsa, and on the way home, she went on and on (and on!) about how amazing the real Elsa was and how she couldn't believe she got to meet her AND that her ice powers were real!

When the girls first arrived, everyone got to paint a picture frame and decorate them with Frozen stickers. Bella wanted to wear her Anna dress, so I put two braids in her hair.

How cute is Ally (the birthday girl) in her Elsa wig!

Elsa with all of the princesses!
(Well, all of the princesses minus Bella; she was holding onto my pants.)

Ally getting her face painted. Elsa was a multi-talented princess - she did face painting, balloon animals, singing, storytime, and freeze tag! (Get it? Freeze tag!)

Luckily, Bella had a really good time at the party, as long as no one expected her to get near Elsa. After spending five years with this wonderful Little Human, I know it does nothing to force her!

Storytime with Elsa...this was when Bella finally started to get sucked in! It was fun to watch her interact with Elsa and ask questions as Elsa read the book.

Her intensely focused face as Elsa got to the end of her Frozen book. Elsa was so patient when the kids would interrupt to ask questions or add to the story!

Balloon animals! Ally's little brother, Ty, got a sword, and the girls got flowers!

Elsa let Bella choose her flower colors, and Bella loved it!

"Anna" costume and balloon flower!

Bella and Molly...isn't Molly's face painting cool? Bella still wasn't in for the close contact during face painting, so we went home paint-free. She never seemed to be bothered by it, though. :)

It was such a great party! The moms were blown away with how Elsa just took over the party and Bella still sleeps with her picture frame and "group shot" under her pillow - even though she isn't in the picture! (Love it!)
