Bella's Christmas Musical

Where to start???

Last year, I was sitting in the front row during Bella's preschool musical, and she started crying as soon as she saw me. The music teacher finally asked me to come get her from the stage, so the happy children could continue their song.

This year, I was prepared. We talked about her Christmas songs, and how she would see Mama in the audience, but would have to stay with her class. I decided to take my chances and sit in the front again with Steve's mom and dad (and Whitney, of course!)

When she first came out with her class, she saw us and got very excited! She obeyed Miss Cheryl and didn't react when she had to stay with her class. As her class came on stage, she waved really big at me and then saw Trey! She yelled out, "It's TREEEEEEEYYYY!!!!"

So you would think at this point that the cards were in our favor, right?

Unfortunately, Bells' sense of justice is a little misguided. She felt that the little girl standing next to her was a little too close, so she nudged her over. The little girl (who, by the way, is extremely sweet!) grabbed Bella's hand, and it was all over from there. Bella thought the little girl scratched her, so she started crying loudly.

Miss Cheryl did such a good job of trying to calm her down and listening to her "grievance", but Bella never really shook it off. She cried during the first song and pouted during the other two.

Getting comforted by Miss Cheryl.

Miss Cheryl moved her to the end, so she had more space, but the little kumquat doesn't "shake it off" very easily. Bless her little over-sensitive heart!

Her whole class in their Christmas best! I love that some of Bella's classmates are turned around to see what's going on!

Finally stopped crying! Miss Cheryl tried to get her involved with drumsticks, but it didn't work. So close!

Not even exaggerating...as SOON as Bella came down off the stage, she was all giggles! She was smiling and bouncing up and down!

Truthfully, I was so disappointed about today. I was looking forward to seeing a calmer little preschooler up there, actually singing and smiling. She did look adorable in her red dress and long hair, though!

Looking forward to next year!
