Before Evelyn gets her first "official" food with a spoon, I've been letting her taste a few things to keep her little hands and mouth busy! With this baby, I'm not going to bother with rice cereal, but we're waiting for Steve to be home before we try pureed vegetables with a spoon (and a camera!).
Munching on apple pieces in a little teether net. Best invention ever!
She's still learning how to hold it and what it does.
Looking back at Mama while she's scooting around the floor. She's definitely understanding more about how she can move herself around.
Tasting a frozen pea popsicle...another new experience for Evelyn! I found a small popsicle set at Wal-Mart, so I cooked up some peas, pureed them in the blender, and then filled the popsicle molds.
Yummy, silly pea face!
Our birth teacher (and friend), Lindsey, suggested I give Evelyn a carrot when she was teething, and it's worked out great! It's easy to hold, it's nice and hard so she can "chew" on it, and it's gives her a new texture to explore.
I just realized that all of these pictures are of Evelyn in her walker...just three different PJ's! She does not like to be put down and gets restless easily (don't we all), so "new food + the walker" is a great way to keep her happy!
