The Beginning Of The End

We are so close to having this house done!
(Which is good, because we're starting to feel a little bit like we're in that movie, The Money Pit.) New carpet was installed on Friday, a plumber comes on Monday to fix one of the toilets, a handyman comes on Thursday to fix the ceiling in the garage, and a cleaning team will be here on Saturday to "deep clean" everything before the realtor puts signs up!

By the way, having a cleaning lady "appraise" your house before giving you an estimate is a very humbling experience. I'm also a little excited about everything that a "deep clean" involves - I'm pretty sure this will be the first time our windows are cleaned since we moved in six years ago.

Staging our house has been a weirdly nerve-wracking experience. Not only are we filling up our garage with boxes and extra furniture, but the rest of the house seems very empty and boring. I know the point is to allow potential buyers to imagine their own things in the house, but it's still odd to see your house so empty while you're still living in it. Plus, the idea of packing without actually moving makes us even more ready to get into the new house and settled! Plus! Trying to guess what potential buyers will want to see in my home makes me start to second guess myself in a "you're spilling out your crazy" kind of way!

Add to this equation the fact that Steve has started traveling for work again, and this next month is going to be a very interesting time! We are both hanging on to the fact that we only have a month left before we move to the new house - hopefully, that will bring an end to a lot of the chaos going on! We are praying for our current house to sell quickly!

One end of our bonus room (Mel's old bedroom). We are excited to have the new carpet done and the workers did a beautiful job, but all of these neutrals are making me a little twitchy.

The "nook" in our bonus room. Bella is sleeping in this bed until we move to the new house.

This is Bella's room. We're selling her twin bed, and we moved everything else out except the dresser. We also sold the dresser from Evelyn's room, so this dresser has both of the girls' clothes for now.

I am a great lover of gallery walls, so this stairwell looks especially bare to me with just one picture on the landing. At least there's new paint!

The old playroom is now staged as an office. I think the girls are just a little nervous that their toys won't make it to the new house!

I was really thankful when our realtor, Heather, said we could keep this dining room yellow! I think it's my favorite room in the house right now because it has color!

The living room has half-packed boxes everywhere, and the kitchen and our Master bedroom are still in disarray, but we're getting there! We can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel getting brighter!

Praying for God's timing to be clear, and for our patience to hang in there!

Everything does look so plain! Can't wait to see how you decorate the new house, though :)
