Garden Sprouting

Our garden is coming along nicely! I took some pictures this morning to show how the plants were growing...
.
.
We have a bunch of tomatoes growing! This is the most exciting, because they started growing the best! This is our largest tomato so far. We have two cherry tomato plants and two regular tomatoes. Can't wait to eat tomatoes from our garden!
.

These are our pepper plants. We have two red bell peppers and two yellow bell peppers. They're starting to flower, so hopefully, we will have peppers forming soon.

Last, but not least, our dahlias have sprouted! They will become large bushes by next summer with big flowers. We plated these from their seeds, so it's a lot of fun to see them fially come up.

So Close!

In just the last two weeks, Bella has shown an interest in walking. Steve and I could care less when she starts to do it, but after being asked so many times, "Is she walking yet?" it's nice to see her at least trying it. I can't get the video to load on the blog, but I've posted it on Facebook.

Her Royal Cuteness

Nothing new to report today...just took some cute pictures of Bella in her jeans and white t-shirt. Steve doesn't have class tonight, so he's going to go to small group with me. I'm sitting on a panel tonight to answer questions about relationships for the teenagers. Should have some interesting questions!

Swings and the Park

Took Bella to the park. She seemed to really like the swings! We haven't been since she was much smaller and didn't fit right. Now, she was smiling and laughing when we pushed her.

Greek Festival

Checked out a local Greek Festival this afternoon after church. It was a lot of fun and we made it in time for the dancing! We heard lots of "Opa's!" Here are some pictures of the dancers, the family, and Bella in the carrier.

Mother's Day

Had a wonderful Mother's Day on Sunday! Steve surprised me in the morning with breakfast in bed, french toast and fresh strawberries! It was so wonderful; a very relaxing way to start our normally stressful Sunday mornings. We even remembered to take some pictures before leaving for church. You can probably tell from our blog's page that I haven't figured out how to re-size the picture.
After church, we sent Bella home with Mel, and Steve and I grabbed sandwiches at Subway. We took them with us to a local park and did some hiking and walking aorund a river. It was so beautiful and a great chance to be outside!
It was out first Mother's Day, but we kind of felt that way - last year, we were too tired to remember anything that went on. I can't even remember if Steve and I exchanged cards! This year was a great way to start off our traditions.

Doggy Update

We have finally reached the point where we feel that having two dogs is just too much. Butters and Harley are definitely part of our family, and we love having them as indoor dogs. Since I'm the one home during the day, though, I'm able to see just how little attention they get. I'm very focused on the two babies and usually scolding the dogs for barking during nap time or trying to eat the babies' food off of the high chair.

Yesterday, I decided to post them on Craigslist to see if there was any interest. I immediately got an email from a man living in downtown Atlanta. He was interested in both dogs and we exchanged about 12 emails throughout the day. It all happened very fast, but it seemed as though we would have a new home forthe dogs by the weekend!

This morning, I got an email from him saying he had a death in the family and would need to be out of town for the next two weeks. We're not really sure where this leaves us. It does solidify in my mind that I am ready for a dog-free home. As for the man, I am waiting to hear from him to see if he would want the dogs after he returns home, and I am wondering if his death in the family was just an excuse to bail out (I know that sounds horrible).

We'll keep you guys posted...we love the idea of keeping them together, so we're not exactly sure where to go from here. There's also a little bit (or alot) of sadness that goes along with the idea of no longer having them with us.

Wrapping up the Weekend

We had a pretty relaxing weekend, which is always a nice change from the normal pace. On Friday night, Steve, Bella, and I walked around Marietta Square and grabbed dinner at a great BBQ place called Old Ephraim's. We've taken Mom and Dad Wires there, but Steve had never been. Then we just walked around the park for awhile and got ice cream. I'm excited for the stage when Bella can run around and play on the fountain!

Saturday was a relaxing morning of the gym and a little gardening. We rewarded oursleves with pizza and ended up crashing in bed with a movie on the laptop. Movies in bed are one of my favorite ways to hang out. Sunay was church like normal, and then I had a VBS meeting after the service. Steve and Bella ran to grab us all some lunch and then came back for the meeting, too.
.
Last night, we had some friends over and grilled salmon! Yum! Steve is a master on the grill and his food always comes out super-juicy! I tried a new recipe that my friend, Jeramie, told me about - sweet potatoes cut up into cubes and baked. It has a ton of natural flavor and is healthier than fried potatoes. It was delicious! We ended the meal with some vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries. We all played Mexican Train 'til about midnight. It was a great time!
