The Weekend

I have to include multiple things in this post while I'm logged on; otherwise, I'm going to be writing a bunch of posts in one day to wrap everything up.

Bella is so close to standing! I took this picture yesterday while she was looking out the window. She can get up on one knee, but still can't pull all the way. I know I don't want to rush any stages, but she tries so hard!

Here are some pictures of my weekend in Florida...this is Mel, mom, and I outside the restaurant. We went to an Italian place called Galileo's in Sarasota. It was the BEST food I've ever eaten in my life!

This is us inside...it was an old 1920's house with arches and tiny bathrooms. Very quaint.

I decided to give Bella a bath while she sat in her Bumbo seat. Bathtime has been rough lately, so I've been trying a variety of places. I think I might stick to the sink for as long as she'll fit in there. I think she likes being higher up.

And last but not least...here's a picture of Steve on his guys' weekend with some friends for Cedarville. They had a great long weekend of hiking, playing video games, soaking in the hot tub, and talking. They're a great group of guys and I'm glad Steve got some away time with them.

Valentine's Day

Steve and I don't do special presents for Valentine's Day, but Mel and I were walking around Rite-Aid and saw a Cinderella cell phone for $5. We couldn't resist! Bella is always trying to chew on my cell phone and frequently drops it on the floors, so we thought we'd get her one for herself

We think she really liked it!

Snow in Georgia!

I already posted some pictures on Facebook, but I thought I'd put some here, too. We had some crazy snow here on Friday! It's definitely the most that we've had since we moved to Georgia. Even though Bella is recovering from being sick, we couldn't pass up the chance to take some snow pictures.

We tried to see if she would play with a snowball, but she was completely uninterested. Steve, Mel, and I definitely had more fun and awe in the snow than Bella did.

I just like this picture of the two of us.

We weren't disappointed at her response, but we were a little surprised at how quickly she started crying. It was pretty much an instant response, but it could've been because she's been sick.

Prayer Group and Grandma's Pork Chops

We had a great weekend! Saturday was a crashing day with no socializing - those days are wonderful! Steve and I spent Saturday night on the couch with a movie and Chinese take-out. We watched the Super Bowl at our pastor's house with a large group of people. Steve and I don't really care about football, but it was fun to see friends and get the babies together.
This morning was my prayer group for the mom's in our Sunday School class. I host it at my house each month and it's a great time for all the moms to get together and also pray for our children. We had a new mom come today who i snew to the church, so that was great!
Tonight we are having Grandma Wires' pork chops! I've already put them in the slow cooker to start cooking. It's been awhile since I've made them, so Steve is super excited. I've got the timer set to be done right when we get home from the gym. Yum!

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Steve likes to give me a hard time that, whenever Law & Order is on, I'm a total zombie. It's true. When one of the TV dramas is on, I don't hear anything you're saying to me. I took some pictures this morning of Bella equally enamored by Ratatouille.

We have a busy weekend coming up. I have a ladies' prayer night tonight for the girls in our Sunday School class. Friday night is a dinner party with about five couples from our class, and Sunday we have a Super Bowl party at the pastor's house.

Bathroom "Finishes"

I've been trying to add little touches here and there to help make certain rooms feel "finished." For me, that usually means artwork. Nothing major; just something that I know I'm going to want on the walls for good. I was able to find some pieces for the half-bath this weekend that made it feel finally done. Here are some pictures...

This is the first view as you walk in the door. The painting on the left is from the Bahamas when my parents lived there. I found the bird picture at Target.

You can't tell very well, but this picture on the right is a camel we found when we were in Dubai. We've had it for awhile now, but couldn't ever find the right frame to go with it.

So now it's done. It might sound weird, but I like walking into a room and knowing I wouldn't change anything else. I like knowing it's completely finished with all of the little embellishments, etc.
